Dealing with difficult behaviours

Dealing with difficult behaviour

Rarely do we encounter a geunuinely "difficult" person. But anyone, given the right circumstances, can exhibit difficult behaviour

Using a combination of practical exercises, role play and case studies this interactive course provides practical suggestions on handling and diffusing difficult behaviours.

Course summary

In a light-hearted, interactive workshop we begin by exploring the concept of difficult behaviours including aggressive, demeaning, obstructive, disengaged, controlling and deceitful.  We consider why people might exhibit these types of behaviour and how that behaviour impacts us and conditions our responses.

With a clearer understanding, we then examine various strategies for addressing potentially difficult situations and diffusing conflict. Using role play we practise using tried and tested techniques, adopting assertive communication styles and aiming to break cycles of negativity, to build more productive relationships in the workplace and beyond.
